The sport of competition has been a part of human culture for centuries. As far back as recorded human history goes there are stories of sporting events and competitions that involved many different types of cultures. History shows evidence of ancient sporting events throughout time such as the Roman Coliseum and the Greek Olympics, both of which challenged competitors physically and mentally. From a certain point of view some may believe that all the enjoyment and happiness of sports can only be experienced by those who are actually competing, however this is not true to fans of sports. People gathered to fill the Roman Coliseum to witness the extraordinary events that took place there. Even though they did not take part in the crazy games that were held, they still flocked to be bystanders and receive some joy and satisfaction by just watching. Today a similar relationship exists between fans and the athletes that play televised sports throughout the world. In the United States, football fans fill parking lots and stadiums before games to celebrate and enjoy the upcoming games before they have even begun. Families and friends crowd around television sets and sit in bars all Sunday long witnessing the phenomenon that is professional sports. Athletes who play the sport thrive off of the fierce competition that takes place during games and feel varying levels of success and happiness depending on the outcome. Winning teams walk away with a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction knowing that they accomplished their goal, but they are not the only ones. Fans who followed the team and watched the games feel just as much a part of these accomplishments as the players who get paid to play do. Sporting events satisfy both the players and the fans need for happiness by giving each other a feeling of excitement and accomplishment when a team is victorious.

The feeling of satisfaction from giving someone the access to unlock their musical potential is unmatched, and the kids are happy to be playing music. Hungry for Music sets a great example of how to give and receive happiness, and helps to create a world where happiness is not limited by financial means.

You see people everyday walking around with a smile on there face or maybe an extra pep in there step, and ask yourself "what are they so happy about"? When the real question is "why does that smile or the way a person walks define them as happy or not"? Happiness is defined as a active or passive state at which one has a great deal of pleasure and or satisfaction. people find satisfaction everywhere and not everybody is happy because of the same things. you can walk down the street and ask ten diferent people what makes them happy and without a doubt can get ten different answers. our bodies aren't wired the same so the fact that we would find pleasure in different things wouldn't come as a shock, the things people find pleasurable on the other hand might scare a few people. Whether it be from something simple such as a getting an A on your test or to the more extremes and rarer occasions like winning the lottery, everybody has experienced a time of complete happiness whether they want to believe it or not. People can find happiness around the world and there is nothing that makes a person happier then when inside the church and knowing that somebody is looking out for you, the music and the time spent together, you really start to get a feeling of belonging, and that no matter what you are or where you came from, that you are accepted and willing to accept. te church can bring a person a great deal of happiness whether it be from the leaders of the church or the people who go there in search of answers.

Happiness can be found in multiple different aspects of everyday life. Some might experience happiness in certain situations that other people may not have any emotion at all. If someone is passionate about something usually happiness will come in one form or another. When a sense of forgetting all the problems that one may possess as a result of doing something, that is happiness. One way happiness is both given and received is through sports. An exchange of giving and receiving happiness is what sports are all about. Often, people say that a certain sport isn’t just a game, it’s a way of life which can sum up the mindset of an athlete. Sports have a mostly positive impact on its athletes hence is why it is called a way of life. Organizations such as the NFL, NBA or NHL provide happiness not only to its viewers, but also to its players. All members of sports organizations receive or give happiness whether it’s a coach, or a player, it comes in some form. Happiness can be received by the viewers, seeing your team contribute to a successful season makes the fans proud. Athletes and coaches contribute to the pool of happiness by leading their team to victory which not only provides happiness for themselves, but also to the millions of fans watching.

Just like “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” Margaret Wolfe Hungerford, happiness is subjective. What makes one happy might not make another as happy, however the power of this subjective emotion is great and affects absolutely everyone. One might even come to say, their purpose in life is to be happy and is the most desired feature life has to offer. Although, it is difficult to actually pinpoint exactly what makes us most happy, there is a significance in how we make others feel happy and the satisfaction it gives one. Egida is a youth center with an initiative to bring happiness to the mentally and physically handicapped youth of Bulgaria. The youth there have lived looking at happiness from the outside, when not much is done for handicapped children in this country. Most have been abandoned and set to the side as if not worthy of the feeling of happiness. It is with the care and nurture that the social workers are happy to extend to the youth that brings about a smile on their face, the universal expression that embodies happiness itself. A simple smile is infectious and holds within it great power
Happiness has always been like the child at recess that never really fit in. Happiness is a simple and abstract feeling that becomes more and more complex as we sift through it. Happiness has traveled with us throughout human evolution, and is deeply engrained in our roots and in our instincts. A strong comradery between humans can spark a passion and motivation in us that satisfies our partners in life, as well as ourselves. Our ancestors have built this type of pact together when hunting and creating civilization in order to survive. These principles are instilled in us today through the comraderies that we make through sports and hobbies. When participating in a sport or hobby, you are giving your time and effort into your team or peers, who receive your efforts. Each member of the team is also giving their efforts to create a comradery that creates a passion against an opposition. Everyone contributes and has each other’s back through victories, defeats, and adversity. A strong comradery within a team holds all of the instinctive elements that make each member happy.

Happiness is an emotional state of well-being that we experience when we have feelings of contentment and/or great joy. Happiness can come from the satisfaction of achieving a goal or overcoming an obstacle that is hard pass. One way we create happiness is in the system of the giver and the receiver. During this interaction the giver feels positive in the sense that he or she has just helped someone for the better. The receiver feels unexpected joy from what they have just received something whether it’s big or small because it is not expected for people to give, it is from their own spirit. One example of finding happiness through giving in my life is from track. I have a passion for running, so achieving goals I set for myself brings me joy and happiness. I give to other people whom I run with techniques and motivation to run faster and achieve their own goals. This brings me happiness because I am helping others achieve their goal while making myself better in the process. Both the joy of watching someone I have helped achieve their own goals and working to achieve my own goals is gratifying and brings me happiness.

The common idiom “it is better to give than to receive” may be true for most cases, but there is at least one time that it could not be more false. Receiving a life-saving blood transfusion is vastly more important for the recipient than the donor. Yet after every major disaster there are news reports about people lining up at hospitals to donate blood to help the victims. Most recently this was seen after the Paris terrorist attacks that occurred, when Parisians lined up for hours to donate despite being told to stay safe at home by authorities. Indeed people lined up across Europe to donate blood to help the victims. According to Timothy B Lee, writer for Vox “in the wake of the September 11, 2001, attacks in the United States: so much blood was given that authorities were forced to throw some of it away” (Lee) Clearly there is indeed something in people that makes them want to give blood. The thought of another family getting more time with a loved one who would have died without it perhaps, or maybe the slightly more self-centered hope that if they were ever to need blood that someone would donate to save their life. While this altruism is appreciated in times of need, blood donations are an ever-present necessity that must be continually replenished. The New York Blood Bank is continually in need of donations, it is through their efforts that thousands of people in need every year are able to continue to live healthy and happy lives, and those who donate blood can feel good about that. Maybe giving isn’t so bad after all.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is a time for the joy of giving and receiving presents, but what if your family just couldn't afford anything this year? Toys for Tots is a charitable program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas, therefore, bringing excitement and pleasure to children and giving donors a sense of satisfaction knowing they just made someone's Christmas a little better. Toys for Tots began as a Los Angeles charitable effort and has grown into a successful charitable organization today. Happiness is "full engagement in life", an energetic flow that connects us with the world, going beyond good and pleasurable feelings. One, they help build relationships and the pursuit of goals. Two, they teach open-mindedness and inner peace. Working with both ends trains the brain to fully love life. Happiness for givers means that they enjoy making others cheerful and joyous rather than thinking about themselves, it is an internal feeling because your actions is a direct cause of your happiness. In order for a receiver to be happy it must come from an external person/ thing. Their happiness depends on the actions of others and if they decide to accept the gestures.

ReplyDeleteHappiness essentially isn’t simple to define in reality there are many interpretations on what it actually may be, varying from person to person. Happiness is when someone comes to the realization that happiness doesn’t only depend other people it also depends on you. In order for someone to become happy first they have like who they are. Its matter of give and take not everything in your life will be perfect. Once people get past their own egocentric motivations to find happiness at one point they should realize, giving it is much more rewarding then receiving it. The foundation March of Dimes pride themselves in working to help improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Having worked with the foundation before I know the immense happiness a little 6 year old can feel from you coming to walk with them in a march to support the cause. The best part about seeing these young children smile during these events can be life rewarding for many including myself. Happiness isn’t only about you and what you want it goes far beyond those ideals. Conclusively happiness isn’t just about whether you have a good love life and a high bank account but actually if the things you do not only to make you feel emotions of happiness but if you can make others feel it as well.

One of America’s most influential child development television stars Fred Rogers once said, “We live in a world in which we need to share responsibility. It's easy to say "It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem." Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.” Rogers, on his show “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood”, put a great stress on the idea of ‘empathy’, or the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. True happiness can be experienced when we share a connectedness towards others and have a sense of security, this can all be found in sympathy, and simple acts of kindness. These simple acts of “pay it forward” type of compassion, can make the giver and receiver have a feel good attitude, and a sense of fellowship. Empathy based organizations like Pay-It-Forward Foundation, promote acts of kindness, endorse connectedness with volunteer work, and encourage happiness with a platform for strangers to help each other.

A lot of people today would say that the goal in life is to live a happy, fulfilled life. Happiness is what we, as humans, strive for but don’t really know how to get. We’re told that it’s not something you can buy all our lives, yet we still work all our lives to obtaining more money as if we can buy happiness if we find the right product. We think that we can gain contentment if we know that we will never be miserably without. Nancy Etcoff once said, “Happiness is not the absence of misery.” It is not in how many much stuff we have, or even in being better than the next person. It’s in our generosity to people other than ourselves. When you focus less on what you want and more on what others need then you can get a certain joy out of helping them. George Whitman created a bookstore called Shakespeare & Company in Paris dedicated to giving people in need of a place to sleep a home amongst the bookshelves, where they can rest and interact with other wanderers. Whitman created this bookstore for the purpose of helping others the way people have helped in during his when he was a traveler. The wanderers who come are named Tumbleweeds, and they can stay for free as long as they lend a helping hand in running the store for at least two hours a day and read a book in their free time. It’s a place where you can always expect to receive help, and a place where there is never a shortage of helping hands to return the favor. At Shakespeare & Company you will, without fail, find happiness.

ReplyDeleteHappiness stems from many different causes depending on the person. Our culture has shaped happiness to revolve around the feeling of success, which often means receiving a high income, live in a nice house, and have a family. Happiness is often spread through love, which is the ultimate goal of “The Love Foundation”. This foundation is a nonprofit international foundation spreading awareness of unconditional love. This foundation builds a practical foundation and understanding of unconditional love within individuals and society as a whole. To love and to be loved is the true key to happiness. There are many factors that build to feeling happy but when it comes down to it, all everyone really needs is love. Whether giving or receiving love from relationships, friendships, family, or an organization love is what our lives revolve around today and ultimately creates a happy life style.

Happiness is thought of as the good life, freedom from suffering, flourishing, well-being, joy, prosperity, and pleasure. For instance soccer is considered as a game that bring enormous happiness to both the players who plays it and the spectators. Today many soccer players have succeeded in life and enjoying good life, fame, and even living in good health. The game also provide the people who patronize it joy, business and unity. The game has an international body know as FIFA that sees to the proper organization of it every year because it a worldwide accepted game. Though many games around the world can give out happiness; however, soccer as a game provides much better happiness by creating business for people, reducing depression, promoting inter countries relationships and more importantly promoting world unity.

Happiness is no more than a simple chemistry equation. What we perceive as happiness is our ventral tegmental area being flooded with the neurotransmitter dopamine. What most people associate happiness with is the way someone feels and not a chemistry equation. All over world there is one sport that provides everyone happiness no matter how wealthy you are, what language you speak, or where you live, this is soccer. People across the global can tell you the sensation that they get from watching a soccer game. There is so much passion in the sport that you can’t do anything but just sit there in awe. Some say that there is no other type of happiness in the world compared to being in the stands of forty, fifty, or even a hundred thousand people all singing and cheering on the same team. If this type of euphoria is felt by the fans I can not believe how the players feel. Those who do play the sport professionally are living out their life long dream and nothing else can compare to it. FIFA provides the joy of soccer to every nation in the world while also giving the sense of being a being a part of something greater than a team to the millions watching.

Happiness isn't just a science. Happiness is what keeps people going in this world. People smile because they are enjoying life at that moment. The Make a Wish Foundation helps with this. Kids who have serious, life ending diseases, such as cancer, are contacted by Make a Wish. They help the kids get that smile of the lifetime they always dreamed of, but never happened due to their conditions. Kids are able to meet their idol, such as a baseball player, maybe even do something like pitch on the baseball field or go up to bat. These kids get to do this to make their lives special, and mean something. Most of the time this helps spread information about Make a Wish, as well as information about disease, so that people can donate and help fund cures towards them. Make a Wish Foundation creates an everlasting happiness in a child who is in desperate need of it, as well as create an everlasting smile to those who will continue on in this world without the child.

Happiness is the feeling that makes you get when you accomplished something that truly means a lot to you. Man people will say that their happy, but the truth is that real happiness is almost impossible to obtain. Nothing will ever go exactly as planned no matter good it turns out or how happy it makes you feel. In order to really be happy, you need to set all of your problems aside and do what you would love to do against everything else. Making people laugh is a great example as it can cause not only you but the receiver of a joke to feel happy. The people understanding and laughing at a joke are never as happy as the one that produced it. One of the greatest happiness’s in the world is getting other people to be happy because of something you accomplished. Creating happiness for others instead of yourself will always be superior and will always produce a grander result.

There are many different things an individual can do to achieve happiness. It may vary from person to person but there is one thing that will always make someone happy and that is helping others in times of need. When someone helps another person in need, there is a sense of satisfaction the goes through their head and they become happier on the inside. Something as small as helping someone pick up fallen books to volunteering at a soup kitchen goes a long way to boost peoples happiness. One of the biggest ways to help others is the Make A Wish foundation. This foundations help kids that are going through tough times in life and helps them experience life as it should be, full of joy. The feeling and idea of happiness can be defined in many different ways and is a feeling that can be obtained through a variety of ways. The main idea of happiness is that it has nothing to do with anyone , you’re well being does not depend on anything or anyone it fulfills within yourself. The idea of competition, whether its playing sport or watching your favorite team can influence and create a lot happiness to athletes or supporters of them. I can say this because I myself find the baseball field to be my getaway or my safe heaven. The act of actually doing something you love and to have all your problems taken away can be a very inspiring moment which instantly shifts your mindset and leads to self fulfillment. The continuous practices or games creates happiness for athletes or for their fans watching them, one feels like they have something to actually look forward to. The idea of succeeding and being around a very positive environment with great people can leave a sense of satisfaction and gratitude. Even when the outcome isn’t a success you know what your truly capable of, sometimes competing at a high level or at the best of your ability. Sports and competition bring the best out of people it encourages one to have fun while playing the game you love.

Happiness can be attained through a multitude of sources. Most people can be made happy by generally the same things, such as listening to music, receiving a gift, being with a loved one, and even seeing other people be happy. Despite people gaining happiness from the generally the same sources, everyone has more specific situations within those general sources that make them happy. For instance, listening to music may make people happy, however, everyone has preferences. One person may gain happiness listening to rock music, while another may gain it from jazz. Most people love giving and receiving gifts, but one person may be happy with a certain gift more than another. It would make anyone happy to be with their loved ones and see them happy, and of course mostly everyone has specific people special to them. Although there are more general sources of happiness such as listening to music, receiving gifts, and being with loved ones, everybody has their own specific preferences and interests that can make them even happier.

Happiness is always the hardest thing to find. A lot of people struggle to find happiness and are always caught up in there job or family life. People don't usually go after there dreams in life. Pursueing your dreams in life i think will create happiness. Doing something not just because you have to but because you want to and that you love doing it. Finding that one thing in life that may make you happy and it could be as simple as going to Disneyland is a struggle for some people. The Make a Wish foundation makes this all possible. They take people that cannot physicaly do these things and make it all possible. For example having a sports player come to a hospital to visit a kid with cancer for the day. Just thinking about somthing like that brings happiness let alone what the kid must of felt when his/her favorite athlete comes to vist them. Somtimes the littlest things can change a persons life, When i see this on T.V it is sad but just seeing the expressions on these kids faces and how much it means to them truly brings a smile to anyones face becasue that is the definition of happiness right there. Doing something or going out of your way for a person that is in need not only makes you feel happy, but makes you feel ten times better about youself as a person.

Happiness is a sensation that cannot be defined with mere words. A person in the pursuit of happiness may sometimes never realize that happiness is something that has to be obtained and not chased. The most ideal personality of a man is to find happiness by spreading happiness to others. Happiness is like a kiss, it can only be felt when shared with others. One of most common situations that most people find happiness is by helping the needy. Humans are basically pack creatures but the evolution of the society has led to create individuality. When a person helps another person his basic animal instinct tells him that he fulfilled a purpose of his life which creates a feeling of comfort, that is Happiness. A foundation called “Make A Wish” helps people with dangerous health problems to fulfill their wishes while at the same time it creates a feeling of satisfaction to the volunteers.

Happiness is not an emotion that can be defined. For each person the meaning differs. Happiness is derived from a person's passion for something. During the holidays people tend to feel more happiness than usual. The holidays bring about a feeling of serenity and contentment, it is a time of giving. During the holidays people tend to feel loved, safe, and a sense of belonging. The most rewarding and heartwarming feeling is seeing the look of joy on a child's face when they receive a gift, or providing warm clothes for those who can not afford it on their own. Happiness for the giver is brought on by the smile on the person's face when they receive your gesture. It is making other people happy that tends to make us happy. Happiness allows a person to become carefree and light spirited. Happiness from another individual creates a happiness within ourselves.

Happiness can be found by the beholder once they have completed an action that helps someone else in a positive way. They're are many actions that one can take to achieve an overwhelming feeling of happiness, not everyone might feel happiness in the same way, but helping out someone who really needs it can change your outlook on what happiness really feels like. Working at a soup kitchen enables you to find happiness because you're assisting other human beings that desperately need help. A Food Pantry such as the Harry Chapin Food Bank on Long Island, brings the community together to assist the hungry. They're overall goal is to feed the hungry in self sufficient way while also promoting public education. Organizations such as this one, help out people who really need it and make a person feel really good about themselves once they have helped out other people. Happiness cant always be found in someones daily life, positive emotions and meaning are just some of the ingredients in happiness. Pay a good deed forward so that everyone can help each other and be happy for a positive cause.

Everyone is born with the goal in life to find happiness. Different things in life cause certain people to have a smile on their face. However, it could take someone a very long time to figure out what truly makes them happy. For some people, helping others makes them happy, family can make someone else happy, and even money can make others happy. Everyone in this world is unique, so their pursuit in happiness will also be different. Volunteering at a hospital can greatly increase someone's happiness. To know that you have made someone happy just by talking to them is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Good Samaritan Hospital is always in need of volunteers, where people can help sick patients by keeping them company or by getting then water and blankets. Ill patients in the hospital lack happiness because they feel lonely and trapped in a room where they do not feel comfortable. Humans need to feel like they belong somewhere and it is hard for a person to be alone in life. Some of the elderly patients have no family around, so they are longing for someone to talk to. By talking to a patient for a few minutes, can increase their happiness and hopefulness in life. It can also increase the volunteers happiness. Just by helping a person in need, can help a person to feel satisfied and proud of what they have done. It is an incredible feeling to know that you have had an impact on someone's life. Happiness can be achieved in a countless number of ways, volunteering at a hospital can boost someone's joy in life, as well as your happiness.

“No one has become poor by giving” is a famous quote by Anne Frank. This Altruistic idea of life is believed by many and practiced by many as well. Altruism is the idea of being selfless and doing something for the benefit of others. However, by doing something for others you get a feeling of satisfaction making it mutually beneficial. A few simple examples of this include holding the door open for someone else, picking up something someone else has dropped and handing it to them or even lifting something that may seem too heavy for someone else. These random acts of kindness can be as simple as to smiling at someone else if they seem sad or depressed. By smiling, you feel good and the other person will sense that you are trying to cheer them up and will be happy that someone else is thinking about them.

There are many definitions of happiness that mean different things to people. To me happiness is the feeling I get when I do something for others that helps them or puts them in a better mood. By donating to organizations like The Make A Wish Foundation or just donating gently used clothes to Big Brothers, Big Sisters, I feel like I am helping others in need. The Make A Wish Foundation gives children with life threatening illness the opportunity to receive one true wish of theirs. Something as simple as donating clothes to a non profit organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters also makes a difference in a child's life. By donating money and clothing to these organizations it gives me true happiness and pleasure knowing that I can make a difference in a child's life. These are the ways that make me feel true happiness, by helping others. Donating to these charities or any others, can make a huge impact in your life and someone who is in need.

Happiness is a state with positive emotions to bring intense joy. Generally human beings will be happier if they satisfy their needs. Therefore, satisfaction is the major factor for happiness. To satisfy our needs we need money. For example, I will be happier on my birthday by sponsoring a meal to the home children’s in my town. The children’s in the home will do a group prayer for me before they start to eat and also there will be smile on their face, as they got the good food to eat. So, this prayer and smile on the children’s face will make me happier, because I will me in a feeling that I made few children’s to satisfy. But to sponsor the meal I need money. Therefore, money plays a vital role for happiness. In conclusion happiness depends on satisfaction of a person and also few persons will be happier if they satisfy others. But the factors which makes the people happier, will differ for each people.

Happiness is the combination of how happy you are and how satisfied are you with your everyday life. Our moods may fluctuate, our thoughts may vary from time to time but our genes determine whether we can be happy in our life or not. There are certain things we need to follow to be happy, first we have to be fearless which is said to be the biggest enemy of man’s happiness. The second is we have to be flexible, the world wants us to be flexible. The third is the law of balance, all people may not be perfect, so we need to know to balance all types of people we meet in our daily life. We should first think that we should be happy and learn to control certain emotions like anger, anxiety which are dangerous factors in leading a happy life. Happiness is the most important factor in life, and we need to find ways to be happy in our day to day life, without which day to day activities may not be possible.

Happiness is the state of being happy when there is satisfaction, pleasure, joy, well-being, and enjoyment. Happiness solely depends upon the person because no one is responsible for the happiness unless the individual decide to feel happy. It’s all about positive attitude, character, mind, and beliefs on themselves. A person can achieve his impossible dream when he is happy. Many people have hobbies for their happiness. Some play music, do photography, travel some places. People who are healthy are the people who are always happy. Happiness can cure many diseases. Money can bring some instant happiness but only for some time because the money is impermanent. People feel happy when they eat a chocolate, researchers had found that eating chocolate would increase some hormones which makes them feel happy. Successful people are always happy. So, people should feel happy for whatever the circumstances is because only then anything can be achieved.

In life we are destined to pursue happiness and constantly want more of it. Happiness varies person to person, because every individual creates their own depending on their preference. Today our society has us believing that the only way we can achieve happiness is by becoming rich. Sadly, many people go through life working hard to have a high income, the biggest house, nicest car and name brand clothing. The truth is though that money can’t buy you happiness, and you need to work to find what makes you happy. One way we can find free happiness that can be shared by both the giver and receiver is through laughter. Laughing is a fast and easy way to bring your mind and body back into good balance after a rough day or even a difficult loss. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded. That happy feeling you experience when laughing will remain with you even after the laughing has diminished. And laughing really Is contagious, it’s nearly impossible not to laugh or smile when someone else does. A little laugh can go a long way, so don’t be afraid to tell your friend that silly joke, it could just brighten their whole day by bringing a little happiness. Laughing offers happiness to both the giver and receiver effortlessly.

In case of human being it can be in form of materialistic happiness, happiness with wealth , sadistic happiness ,happiness from achievements and when someone feels to be in their comfort zone. In this competitive world where everyone craves for recognition. An achievement of some sort in their respective fields can make them feel happy. A materialistic happiness can be observed when someone spends their money to buy more and more goods or things. This form of happiness is very dangerous as it make a person to fall in debts. To prevent this form of happiness one should start enjoying the basic pleasures of life .The other form of happiness is sadistic happiness which is attained when someone thinks bad about their enemy’s something bad happens to them. This form happiness can be observed in today’s workplaces .With competition increasing all fields of a work place few workers will start to envy their co employee and when something bad happens to these recognized people the people who envy them feels happy. Happiness can be found in different forms but human being shouldn’t forget the basic pleasures of life.

Happiness is the emotional state by which an individual feels positive and energetic. Happiness origins from oneself, if a person has a visualization of being happy, he can be happy, no one can ever stop him from being happy. People have different ways to be happy, but majorly two ways, spending on their own desires and the other one is helping others. A candle can light a thousand candles and the life of the candle is not shortened. The happiness is just like the light from the candle it increases on sharing. Helping others could make a good satisfaction which gives happiness which is admirable. An organization called “Medecins Sans Frontieres” helps people who requires medical attention where it is needed the most, which gives the doctors and the volunteers a sense of satisfaction.

True happiness is an occurrence that should be treated like karma; elders may say “give, and it will come back to you” but studies have shown that such a simple phrase may have a much deeper meaning. It has been disputed throughout history, the true source of happiness, and like the youth fountain, there are just speculations as to what we are looking for. It is commonly said that individuals who volunteer their time to help others in turmoil tend to benefit psychologically from the deed, having feelings of lightheartedness, pleasure, and satisfaction which are a few words that appear in dictionary definitions of the word happy. Activities such as volunteering are said to bring feelings that are associated with happiness, but why aren't more people doing it? There are different perspectives on the true meaning of happiness and one thing remains common; individuals comment that there is no better feeling than helping a person in need but many will never know the satisfaction or gratification it brings because there is not many who will apply themselves to such tasks. People should start helping others to help themselves gain happiness based on the fact that volunteering is one of the major sources and can benefit more than one party.

How can it be that so many people from so many different walks of life can come together and rally around a common occurrence. People coming together as one creates happiness. There are so many differences in the world but it is a beautiful sight to see people find happiness together. Whether it be a city or country rallying around a team, remarkable success, long awaited justice, or something more sorrowful like a death or catastrophic disaster; humanity finds away once in a while to join together in celebration, support, or grief. Even in the darker things in life we can find light; together. It is not always easy or frequent but unity can crack a smile, or perhaps a tear of joy.

Happiness can come in many shapes and forms, and someone can give another person happiness while still being happy. Yes it is possible for someone to give happiness and experience the happiness the receiver is experiencing. A lot of people might not want to give, but they should because it makes people happy. It also doesn’t just make the receiver happy, but it can make the giver happy too. This doesn’t mean a person has to give someone something physically though. A person can give someone anything that makes them happy and you can be happy doing it too. A big thing that makes not just the receiver happy but the giver too is giving your knowledge. The person that gives can give their knowledge to a friend to help them do anything like homework, studying for a test, writing a paper, or anything else. The receiver is happy that they received help and the giver is happy too. What makes it best is when all the work pays off and for example the giver helped the receiver get a good grade on a test because they studied together, this makes the giver even more happier. The giver and the receiver can be happy.

Happiness can only be achieved through self-actualization. Psychologists believe that one cannot be truly happy without first understanding who they are as a person. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs states that the most important part of life besides basic needs is self-actualization. If you are able to understand who you are as a person it will not only affect what you do with your life but how happy you are. True happiness is found when one can appreciate who they are as an individual. Moreover how your existence betters others directly relates to your quality of life and overall happiness. In order to increase your happiness one should take time to reflect on themselves as a person.

Why does it always seem like kids are the happiest people in the world? What is it about them that puts them in this entirely different world from what seems like everyone else? Possibly that is it, they are in their own world and oblivious to the actual world around them. Ignorance is bliss and as a child, you are more worried about what is happening to yourself than what is happening around you. It is incredibly frustrating to know there are people suffering and struggling in every corner of life and having to acknowledge that there is very little you can do without giving up almost everything. The key then is to turn off your brain which is a very narcissistic thing to say. However if kids have taught us anything, it is almost fool-proof. Of course not all the time but at the right moments. People don’t drink alcohol because its healthy, in most cases it is to forget you ever had a reason to be upset. Don’t be afraid to give yourself some time to be happy or else the realization of the world around can consume you

Happiness is a goal that people aim for in life, it is the emotional state of being ecstatic, joyful, and merry. Without it the world would be so miserable and feel so melancholy. Most teens try to find their happiness through giving to others and that is what Key Club does. Key Club is a High School organization that does acts of services in their communities such as: cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. The acts taken by Key Club members brings amusement to the students conscience, but most importantly bring comfort and a sense of ambition to the people being helped that own very few things in life.

Since the beginning of time societies all over the world have searched for more, more money, food, love and happiness. Historians have travelled the world in hope to find new and exciting aspects of the world to achieve one great thing, happiness. Happiness has been the goal to strive for, but why do we strive toward happiness? Why has happiness been the foundation for a full life style? Happiness is the pleasure, the overwhelming worth individuals get when achieving greatness. Whether an individual's source of happiness is a good job, family and friends, happiness has become a major goal sought in life. J.K Rowling once said, “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Even when obstacles become too challenging or life seems to hard at the end of the day happiness is never lost but always seeking to be found. As we find ourselves smiling or laughing we experience a feeling of euphoria and often seek to hold on to that feeling. In order to hold on to that feeling sought by all you must take what is and cherish it do not mask it over in hopes to find better enjoy the happiness in hopes that it continues throughout your life.

Happiness comes in many shapes and forms. It is a feeling that many look for, but not everyone finds. The best way to define happiness is when you feel positive and enjoy what you are doing. That feeling you get inside you that forces you to smile is an example of how happiness feels. Many feel happy when they do for others, and those who are receiving may feel happy as well. An example of happiness being brought to both givers and receivers is professional sports. No matter what the sport is, athletes work hard to put on a “show” for all who watch, giving up their time and effort to entertain. The National Basketball Association hosts what is known as All Star Weekend every year. It is a weekend strictly for fun, where athletes put on a show to entertain all who watch. An event that is known to be enjoyable to all, is the dunk contest. For the givers, who are the athletes, they are able to showcase what they are capable of, giving it their best, while hearing the crowd roar. This makes them feel happy because they are filling others with excitement, while receiving an applause that in return. On the other end, the viewers are happy, because they are witnessing a show that is full of energy and excitement, while usually being around family or friends. They too give, because they show their appreciation by cheering on the athletes who are competing, making the athletes feel good about what they are doing. In the end, you just have to find what you enjoy doing, because that will make you happy, and no one can tell you otherwise.

Happiness cannot be achieved by only one way. Many people have different ways of being happy as well as different things causing their happiness. Christmas being one of the most joyful times of the year for mostly every person that celebrates it is one way this proves the statement that happiness is achieved by different ways. People getting joy out of wrapping their gifts for others, people unwrapping the gifts and the excitement on their face when they see their favorite toy, shirt, etc., and they joy you feel when you see that person’s face light up when they unwrap your gift and cherish it. Not only do you get the joy of being happy when getting something you’ve always wanted but people experience the same thing when simply giving that person something they always wished for because you know when they open that gift that they are going to be extremely happy and that happiness you see on their face is just so contagious that you experience that same feeling by just looking at or being with the person. “Christmas 4 a Cause” Foundation is one of these organizations where people can buy clothes, toys, and anything that could benefit a homeless person in need. Not only are the homeless people receiving these things filled with joy but so are the people giving since they know they’ve helped someone in need.

Throughout the lives of most, people struggle to define and achieve happiness. Happiness is simply the state of being happy, but what makes people happy? Some will tell you that the act of giving lifts their happiness levels substantially. The organization Toys For Tots is a program that is run by the U.S. Marine Corps which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. The mission of this generous cause is to collect new, unwrapped toys during the months of October, November and December at participating locations and then distribute those toys as gifts during the holidays to needy children. By donating to this Toys For Tots, both the people who give feel happier and those who receive those gifts also have a spike in their happiness.

Happiness is a very complex word that no one will ever agree on a definition for. It’s an unexplainable emotion that can be caused from many different things, depending on who you are and what you like. There is no doubt that everyone finds happiness in something different than the person next to them. People can say they feel happy spending time with their family, giving to others, playing sports, or even doing well in school. But if one looks deep down, there is one thing that stays the same throughout, being happy with yourself. The painter was happy with his artwork, the girlfriend was happy how much of an impact she made on her boyfriend, the parents that were happy to see their own child walk. To achieve happiness a person must be happy with themselves in order to achieve happiness through someone or something else. If a person isn’t happy than that A on an exam won’t mean anything, seeing their boyfriend won’t make them enjoy their time together, the list goes on. By achieving any type of happiness the person has to come to terms and accept themselves.

I truly believe that happiness is a choice, psychology research says that we all have a “happiness set point” that determines our overall well-being. I think that this “happiness set point” can be reset, what I mean is if you are feeling blue, or just having a bad day and you just don’t think that anything can pull you out of it. That’s where I believe that there is a choice to be made. I use to be angry and depressed as a young boy and I felt like everyone was against me, but I soon realized that I was just being stubborn and was choosing to be unhappy. If you tell yourself every morning that today is my day and nothing is going to bring me down, I bet you will feel better the day that’s in front of you and about yourself. I know that some people wake up in the morning and say to themselves that this day is going to suck and I don’t care what anyone has to say to me. That’s why I believe that happiness is a choice and that everyone in the world should always look at the upside of things because it could make your or someone else day that much better.

Happiness is a state of mind that only you can dictated. You have the key to your own happiness, and you decide what sources your happiness comes from. Many causes of happiness come in the form of sports. Millions of people throughout the world invest their time, money, and emotions on their favorite sports teams. The teams that these fans root for become part of who they are. They identified themselves with their favorite sports teams. On the teams perspective team members work hard throughout the course of one year, and invest everything into succeeding for their team. Team members sacrifice everything in their life for the team. Just like the fans, team members identified themselves with their sports teams. Sport teams provide happiness to the fans by winning games, and the fans provide happiness to the sports team by showing appreciation for all their hard work. Showing appreciation for one’s work can go a long way for enhancing someone’s state of mind just like the players . Investing your time, money, and emotions into something and see it all work it out can be very satisfying as well in the case of the fans.

Happiness to many is a mystery to define, yet happiness has many definitions depending in where a person was born. In big cities where focusing in material things can become a happiness while in the countryside family might become happiness. Happiness is doing what you love yet the outside affects what someone decides what they love to do. Been born where everything is accessible to a person might cloud what really is important in life the necessary aspects, food, clothing, and most important someone special. A reason to be happy has to be the goal of everyone. Doing what you love and loving those who has given what they have without hesitating. yet don’t look outside what you don’t have inside, don’t ask for love, if you don’t have it, don’t you ask for justice if you weren’t fair, you can’t look for peace outside if you don’t have it inside. Happiness is something you growth, it’s a reason to live. A reason to live is the assets that leads to happiness.

We all have moments when we say that we are happy or unhappy , but we all want to be happy and we all go by the principle that there is no human that doesn’t want to be happy. But in reality, few of us wonder what happiness really means? Sometime I ask myself what happiness represents for me? What are the things that make me happy and give me the motivation to live my life in a positive way? Honestly, my happiness depends on the people around me. In other words I am happy when everything I do makes the people around me happy. It is just a matter of giving, helping someone, the feeling that you are being useful is indescribable.
I know that happiness is not easy to achieve and the society is not perfect and there always will be people trying to take you down, to change your positive attitude about this world, however, if you know how to fight and always remember the moments that really made you happy, you will definitely find that inner peace that will get you through.

Happiness isn’t something that you can physically touch or hold, its something that you feel. It comes in many different sources, whether it’s from a song or a book or just putting a smile on someone’s face. But what really connects with people is music. It seems that everyday people always have their headphones in listing to what they like and what makes them happy. Through the power of music you can say anything and it echo in so many people’s hearts. Music gives a voice to the voiceless and gives hope to those who have lost it. Everyday more and more people fall in love with a new song by a new artist that shows a different meaning of happiness. But in order to keep people smiling and the music need to keep playing, and that won’t happen if there are no more artist that play music. That why the “music unites is the leading non-profit organization supporting music education” to keep those who love music to do what they love and not just to keep them happy but teach them so they can make others happy through the power of their music. It’s amazing how a couple of chords on a guitar and a couple of words from the heart can make so many people happy and put a smile on their face. Through Music there are a lot of ways to make people happy.

What is happiness? Many go through life yearning for happiness. Some thinking they've achieved it, some feeling as if they haven't. But does anyone even know what happiness truly is? Is it as simple as knowing someone is a happy person if you notice they have a smile on their face? No, it is a bit deeper than that. In modern society, it seems that happiness is widely portrayed as something difficult to reach. This is because happiness is discussed as if it is only attainable if you are virtually "perfect." You must have a superb education, superb job, superb house, car, significant other. So in most cases, happiness is looked at as attainable through money.
Although I think most people are intelligent enough to know by now, happiness is not all about money. For the most part, happiness is something that just naturally comes and goes. Sometimes you'll feel happy, sad, frustrated, anxious or just somewhere in-between. Emotions are a part of life. If you only feel one emotion throughout your life, or for just a significant period of time, you're most likely not human. Although some will protest that they never feel happiness, I strongly believe that, that is most likely due to that person's own subconscious choice. That he or she probably deep down doesn't want to be happy. They will say they have depression and spend prolonged amounts of time sulking and feeling sorry for themselves. In reality, happiness is not extraordinarily difficult to understand. As long as you can be yourself, be confident in yourself, look to do things that make you happy, and stay away from feeling sorry for yourself, you will accomplish some sort of happiness in your life. But do not set unrealistic expectations for your emotions. You will feel all human emotions and that is simply you being a human being and yourself.
